Shopping Cart Sat-Nav Coming to Save Your Grocery Shopping Woes
Grocery retailer Tesco is testing a mobile application that will allow its customers to cross their stores with the help of satellite navigation. Say hello to shopping drag sat-nav.
The UK retail merchant, known in the US for in operation the Fresh & Easy market chain on the West Coast, is currently testing the Mechanical man app in one of its Greater London area stores. If you're in the area and want to try it out, download the app and chief to the Romford store to give it a go. At one time in-entrepot, shoppers enter their shopping list into their phone; they'll then get a 3D map that points out where they are, and where to incu the items they're looking. Let shopping commence!
Nick Lansley of Tesco's Research & Exploitation team blogged about the neat in-fund Sabbatum-nav, writing that the service is existence developed to guide "you [around] the memory to gain vigor your products victimisation the shortest itinerary".
However, the time-preservation app is not available elsewhere just one of these days–information technology all depends on how this "beta" shopping experiment pans out. Tesco's Lansley explained that the company "won't be rolling this out to customers in general for a while", detailing that Tesco of necessity to entertain the general utility and base implications that the app would present, adding,"Information technology would be awful if we did all this work but few customers really used it."
Whether Tesco's experiment is a success or non (and Here's hoping it is), the estimate is a neat one. Imagine being able to aim in and out of Wal Mart in record time, or finding where the digital cameras are in your local Best Stock a flash.
I for matchless wanted our sat nav shopping future. For those in the U.K (and about Romford), here's how you can join in the R&D fun.
